XN-9000 Workload Balance
Tube sorter becomes the sample manager
- Flexible configuration of XN analysis modules
- Discrete rack management
- Built-in auto reflex
- Flexible rack entry and exit positions, also possible as single point of entry/exit
The XN-9000 Workload Balance configuration is an advanced work area automation concept. It is best suited to labs with a varied sample profile and a need for pre-sorting. By pre-sorting the tubes to user-defined criteria, you optimise processing capacity and sample distribution across the analysis units.
Covering pre-sorting and sorting and archiving needs, this configuration helps optimise sample collection and fast distribution to other work areas. You can finetune the setup through variable clinical and productivity values, an optional slide maker/stainer or digital imaging module.
This configuration is especially easy to operate as it has just a single point of entry. Tubes are placed at the entry point and fed into the tube sorter (TS-10 or TS-10 Up*) and registered. They are then grouped by measurement profile, patient information or any other sorting priorities you care to define. Tubes are processed as batch and transported per rack via the belt system to the XN units.
Intelligent workflow management maximises sample throughput with minimum cycle time. Due to the sorting capabilities, EDTA samples can be consolidated in a single tube per patient, letting you reduce your time and material input, and therefore the cost.
Negative results are validated automatically by the rule set, which supports efficient reflex and rerun testing. Once the order processing is complete, the tubes are archived automatically. If there are still outstanding analysis orders, they are sorted for subsequent work areas.
*TS-10 Up: Without exchanging the TS-10 instrument, you can roughly double the sorting speed and capacity using a dedicated upgrade kit. Without losing your initial investment you therefore remain flexible – whether your daily workload increases or you need greater sorting capacity due to additional, increasingly complex test requests.
Extended IPU
The Extended IPU, as an integrated component of all XN-9000 configurations, controls the complete order management for the EDTA tubes. This automation and optimisation of the workflow process with rack management and tube registration means each individual EDTA tube is fully traceable.
