Immunochemistry
Immunochemistry is a widely used laboratory technique and deals with the determination of disease-specific biomarkers from several body fluids, mainly serum or plasma. It involves the analysis of molecules such as antibodies, antigens and other components of the immune system and is based on antibody-antigen interactions, so-called ‘immune complexes’, which can be detected using various methods (usually colorimetric, turbidimetric, fluorescence or chemiluminescence).
Immunochemistry plays a crucial role in various fields, including immunology, medical diagnostics, pharmaceuticals and vaccine development.
For analysis in clinical laboratories, simple, fast, robust, yet sensitive automated methods are needed for routine purposes.
At Sysmex we offer a fully automated, random-access immunochemistry analyser, called HISCL, designed to meet the requirements of mid- to high-throughput clinical labs in terms of efficiency and ease of use.
