Everything in FLOW: The New Work Campus in Hamburg-Alsterdorf is taking shape. The developers MATRIX Group and Bayerische Hausbau celebrated the topping-out ceremony with anchor tenant Sysmex Europe SE, representatives of the Senate and the district of Hamburg-Nord, as well as many guests and construction workers. The construction project will create around 25,000 square metres of new working space at Deelböge. Sysmex Europe, an international manufacturer and provider of innovative analytical equipment and services for laboratory diagnostics, will move its headquarters for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa) with hundreds of employees to FLOW in early 2025. For Hamburg, this represents one of the most significant company relocations in recent years.
State Councillor Andreas Rieckhof, Ministry of Economics and Innovation: "A sophisticated and sustainable office, production and laboratory space is being created here in Alsterdorf on around 25,000 square metres. The future users and the entire surrounding area will benefit from this. We are delighted that Sysmex Europe, an international high-tech company from the medical technology sector, is coming to Hamburg. In addition to the modern space, Sysmex will find an extensive ecosystem in the life science sector and a vibrant business location here in Hamburg."
FLOW is characterised by an intelligent concept for designing modern workplaces. This includes two generously designed buildings with walkable green roofs, clinker facades, flexible workspaces, a smart building app, a parcel station, as well as a comprehensive mobility concept with car-sharing and numerous bicycle parking spaces. Attractive courtyards with a high quality of stay are being created, which seamlessly merge into the green surroundings along the Alster and the Tarpenbek.
Hans-Peter Boltres, Head of the Building Department, Hamburg-Nord district:
"With FLOW, a forward-looking project is becoming a reality, enabling modern working environments in a perfectly accessible and yet green location. The settlement of Sysmex on an innovative New Work Campus is a stroke of luck for the economic development in Hamburg-Nord and brings important jobs to the location."
Olaf M. Heinzmann, Managing Partner of the MATRIX Group:
"In our project development, the focus is on people with their needs and demands. We create a forward-looking working environment that promotes creativity and communication. This goes hand in hand with our sustainability standards, so that the campus will meet the highest standards of EU taxonomy. FLOW brings the work of tomorrow into flow."
Matthias Reuner, Hamburg Branch Manager of Bayerische Hausbau:
"Digital technologies have blurred the lines between the professional and the private. The modern office is competing with the home office. That's why it needs to be much more than just a place to work, but a feel-good place to relax, meet and collaborate. FLOW translates New Work architecturally."
Sysmex Europe is currently still based in Norderstedt. The group is an international leader in the field of laboratory diagnostics. In FLOW, the company will occupy more than half of the total space.
Alain Baverel, President and CEO, Sysmex Europe SE:
"Our move to Hamburg underlines our commitment to the location and the continued growth of Sysmex in the EMEA region. We look forward to providing our employees and new talent with a modern and inspiring working environment in the heart of the Hanseatic city. The new building supports our vision of a future-oriented and sustainable workplace with space for communication and creativity."
The completion of the campus is planned for the end of 2024. Attractive space is still available for rent in one of the two buildings, and each tenant will have an exclusive address.
